What is this site?
Welcome to CredAbility's Essentials for Buying Your First home. Our programs are designed to help you become a successful homeowner and help you fulfill the requirements of many of the existing down payment assistance programs.  CredAbility's curriculum was designed to comply with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) requirements for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program or NSP.  HUD requires consumers to receive eight hours of counseling and education in any combination in order to participate in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

What is available?
We offer an eight hour program that consists of six hours of education followed by a two hour one-on-one counseling session with a CredAbility certified housing counselor available to you along the way. You may also take them separately. Whatever you decide, please check with your lender before you begin to make sure they will accept these education and counseling certificates in order to qualify you for their program.

What does it cost?
For six hours of education and two hours of counseling, the cost is $75. If you only need the six-hour education course, the cost is $25. The two-hour counseling program alone costs $50.
